About Therapy

“The important thing is finding the right therapist for you.”

Often the hardest part is taking the initial step to reach out and seek help, after recognising that we can no longer face the problem alone, and that we need the support of a professional to guide us along the way.

One of the most important aspects of successful therapy is to find someone with whom you feel comfortable, who has the right training and experience to support you. Therapy is a journey, and I work with clients on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and live it more fully, or to give you a detailed assessment and diagnosis along with a treatment plan.

Therapy sessions can be conducted in-person, online or over the phone for individuals, families and groups.

Free Consultation:

I offer a free 20-minute consultation, where we will get to know each other and during this time decide if we think I would be a good fit for you as a Counselling Psychologist.

Intake Session:

Opening up to a new therapist can be daunting, so during the first session we will have a general discussion to help us get to know each other, and we will talk about your reasons for taking this step. This will enable me to cater our sessions specifically to you. I will gain understanding of what your hopes and expectation are for therapy. The first session is to establish your therapy requirements and what you would like to achieve from counselling. After the initial consultation, we will begin working together, common goals will be defined and a treatment plan will be determined.

“I work in an integrative manner - my aim is to adapt the way that I work and the therapeutic tools I use to the issues at hand and the person I work with. Rather than exclusively using a single approach and imposing it on my client, I prefer to build the therapy together and to adapt the work accordingly.”
